Hi,

This is a new forum and my husband Raven and I hope it will be great for all who join. Elven Dating & Friends is mainly designed for people who are into Elves. Whether you believe you are an Elf or just love the Elves as portrayed by Tolkien and others, this is the place to be!

This is a PAID membership forum. It will operate a lot like the dating and friendship websites that are online, but it will be in a forum format.

Each member must join and await approval which should be within 24 hours. Each member will then get their own board on the forum and be moderator of their own board. Every member will be able to post messages and new threads on any of the members boards.

The price of membership is a one time fee of $22.50

Some internet dating sites charge $20 a month or more, and some can run up to almost $100 a year. We won't do that here. The one time membership fee gets you in.

Register on the forum first, then pay $22.50 through Paypal by clicking on the homepage image of Arwen & Aragorn where it says Elven Dating & Friends.

As soon as we get an email confirmation we will activate your account.

You will have access to an exclusive forum that can only be viewed by paid members. Guests and members awaiting approval will only be able to view this welcome board and the messages in it. All members personal boards will be available to members only. This will eliminate lurkers and trolls that tend to flock to public forums.

We encourage you to post a photo of yourself in your introduction message. But that's up to you. If you are joining this forum to meet potential partners then we recomend posting a photo. If you don't have a free photo account we can post your photo for you, or just go to www.photobucket.com and create your own account. It's easy! Then you can upload photos and paste the image tag in your posts to show your pictures!

Can we sticky this one at the top maybe?
Well, we have 27 members after 5 months. That's pretty good considering the Elven community is not extremely large, though I suspect there are a lot more that would come out if they were not fearful of ridicule or persecution.... Ok Ok, I know how it is, now living in the Bible belt and we don't go around announcing to all the neighbors we are Eldar and want to establish an Elven community... we just correspond with our Elven friends and mind our business with the neighbors as far as this goes.
What I want to do is encourage all existing members to get active. Many have joined and are not posting anything. Are any of you corresponding via PMs or has anyone met new friends or is there any potential relationships?
For members I've recently posted on the Elven discussion board a couple thought provoking messages and it would be nice to get some input on those threads....

I have joined this forum with our Indigocrystals board under the category "ELVES: DISCUSSION OF THE ELDAR RACE" here indigocrystals.proboards37.com/index.cgi
You have to be a member of Indigocrystals to view that part of the forum, just like the profiles here.
We are also going to make some changes. We will keep this board open for the time being but we sre so busy with things we just can't be monitoring a group that is inactive most of the time. Unfortunately that is the case here.

Here is what I wrote in ththe new Indigocrystals board:

I know there are a lot of members on here that are members there too. Eventually I would like to link the two boards or move everything over here. I am also going to change the paid membership of that board to paid memebership only if a person can or wants to. I had hoped to be able to get an add free site with features like the more "worldly" dating sites. I was never able to reach that goal. In the mean while another website showed up on the web called Otherkin dating (I think that's the name). But Otherkin is for all kinds of otherkin, not just Elves. I would like to keep ours within the elven realm of loves possibilities.
Only registered members can see this board Elda Meleth, which means Elf Love, or Elven Love in Sindarin. (As best me and Raven could come up with) So you can feel comfortable in what you post here will be private and only viewable to registered members. The Trolls who just visit to lurk won't be able to see what's posted in this part of the forum. "
